Netrunner: Rules, Strategies & Gameplay

Netrunner is a dynamic and strategic card game set in a cyberpunk universe. The game pits two players against each other: one taking the role of a savvy hacker (Runner) and the other as a powerful corporation (Corp). Understanding the rules, strategies, and gameplay intricacies can help you gain an edge over your opponent.

Rules

  • Objective: The Corp aims to advance and score agenda cards, while the Runner tries to steal them.
  • Setup: Both players draw five cards from their decks. The Corp begins with five credits, and the Runner starts with four credits.
  • Turns: Players alternate turns, performing actions like drawing cards, gaining credits, installing programs or ICE (Intrusion Countermeasures Electronics), and more.
  • Winning: The first player to score seven agenda points wins the game.

Strategies

  • Corp: Balance between advancing agendas and defending servers with ICE.
  • Runner: Focus on building an efficient rig of programs to bypass ICE and access valuable data.

Gameplay

  • Phases: Each turn consists of draw, action, and discard phases.
  • Economy: Managing credits is vital for both players to perform actions effectively.
  • Bluffs: The Corp can bluff by installing traps, adding an element of psychological warfare.
